Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults(RCIA):
Do you know someone searching for God? Have you been away from the Church or has a member of your family closed the church doors because of a life hurt? Has your faith been in hibernation and in need of a wake up call? Is your faith just beginning and in need of some direction? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, RCIA might be just what you are looking for!

The RCIA process will explore the Catholic Faith; its traditions, beliefs, practices and customs. Most of all, the RCIA is a faith journey – the trip of a lifetime!

The RCIA, is at once ancient and new. The Rite expresses the essential mission and purpose of the church: to draw all people to the Father through Christ Jesus the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Second Vatican Council called for reinstating the catechumenate process of initiation. In 1988, the United States Catholic Bishops mandated the RCIA Process for use in all Dioceses. Potential new members of the church are led, by stages and at their own pace, into full participation with the community of the faithful. They embark on a faith journey with scripture, sponsors and other people of faith.

The time during the journey is known as the catechumenate period and is designated for the exploration of Catholic Christianity through the study of the upcoming Sunday Scriptures. The goal of this process is the nurturing and growth of the person’s faith, relationship and conversion to God.

The RCIA meets throughout the year in the Cardinal Room at the Meeting Center on Wednesdays at 7pm. Inquirers may join at any time. Please call the Parish Office for details
