The 2010 Fall Athletic Season gets underway in 3 weeks with the beginning of practice sessions for Volleyball and Soccer. As of this writing, we have openings available for boys and girls in the 7th and 8th grades for Varsity Soccer as well as boys in the 4th through 6th grades to play JV Soccer. As for volleyball, we have some opening for girls in the 4th through 6th grades on the JV Volleyball team. You do not have to be a student at St. Robert School to participate. The athletic program is open to all students of the parish regardless of where they attend school. Practice will begin the week of August 16th. Registration forms are available on the Athletics page of the SRB web site. Please complete your registration form and drop it off at the parish office between the hours of 8:30 and 3:30 Monday through Thursday and between 8:00 and Noon on Friday.

Please remember that all participants are required to have a physical exam prior to the start of the season. The exams must be conducted after July 1, 2010. Physical exam forms are also available on the Athletics page of the St. Robert web site.

Get your foursome ready for The Men’s Club Golf Outing that will take place on Sunday August 15th at the Woodlands of Van Buren located on Ecorse Rd. just east of I-275. The day includes 18 holes of “scramble” golf followed by dinner and prizes at the SRB Activities Building. Reserve your spot by calling Jim Allan at (248)478-8130. As always, we are in need of prizes. If you or someone you know is able to provide one or more prizes, please contact Jim. Donations labeled “Men’s Golf Outing” can also be dropped off at the Parish Office.

Individuals interested in coaching soccer, volleyball, basketball and / or baseball should send a letter to the Athletic Department indicating your desire to coach as well as some background information about your prior coaching experience. Due to some standardization of records and policies, all current coaches are also asked to send a brief letter of intent. Please submit your letters of intent for all sports by August 2nd so that we can properly plan for the coming athletic season.
